Everybody’s born to be a star. True enough, TV geniuses used this thought to launch a good number of talent search shows nowadays. The aim is to hunt for the one they called the ultimate star whose talent may as well launch a thousand ships or in this case—a thousand appearances, commercials, albums movies and a multitude of screaming fans. TV station ratings would go high up of course depending on the appeal of the show to the masses.
Indeed these types of shows are of big hit in the small tube in the current times. People enjoy watching these shows. Moreover, people enjoy joining themselves to these shows. The audition process until the final showcasing of talent is continuously streamed making it more like a TV series. Millions of people would gladly line up under the heat just to showcase their talents in front of everybody. Judge’s verdict would only be either a yes or a no to be able to proceed to the next level. Part of the show’s twist is the upfront commenting of the performance. The contestants may have their approval or not on the spot. All the judges’ appreciation, frank criticisms and even the contestant’s bloopers add up to the show’s overall appeal and fun factor. Almost all people are sucker for that.
Why do a lot of people join talent search shows? Is it about the desire to under the lime light? Is it about the prize money? It could be. However, there would always be a greater reason or motivation for such action. That is to prove themselves to the world—that they have talent which they believe is incredibly unique and something which they can be proud of. Talent search shows meant sharing of talent to the world.
Win or lose, the most important thing for everyone to put in mind is that we are special in our own ways. We are already stars in the eyes of our Creator. We can shine brilliantly with or without the spotlight.
